- downloaded onto your computer and then imported onto your forum, or
- installed from the Library
You can always Download an item, which will simply download the item's associated file to your local computer (a .PBT file for themes, a .PBP file for plugins). This file can be later imported onto your forum.
Importing an item into your forum
To add a theme to the forum from a .PBT file:
- Go to your forum's Admin Control Panel
- Go to Themes
- Go to Theme Manager
- Click on the Create New/Import Theme button at the top of the page
- Click on Import an Existing Theme
- Select the file from your local computer
- Click Finish
To add a plugin to your forum from a .PBP file:
- Go to your forum's Admin Control Panel
- Go to Plugins
- Go to Manage
- Click on the Import Plugin button at the top of the page
- Select the file from your local computer
- Click Finish
Please note, you cannot open a .PBT or .PBP file on your computer, it is only for uploading to a forum.
Installing an item directly from the library
If an item is available on the Library it is easier to install it from there; it avoids having to download and then import the file into your forum.
To install a plugin from the Library:
- Go to your forum's Admin Control Panel
- Go to Plugins
- Go to Plugin Library
- Now you are viewing the Library. At the top right is a purple box that displays your forum's URL, indicating where the plugin will be installed when following these steps.
- Find the plugin you want to install and click the
icon. - The plugin is now installed on your forum. You will be taken automatically to the management page to make any final configurations.
Note: It's important to remember that Plugins will not automatically be enabled when they are installed. On the plugin management page check the box to the left of the plugin's name to enable it after you have finished setting it up.
Installing a theme from the Library is a similar process except you would go to the Themes area of the Admin Control Panel.
