Bookmarks are similar to the favorites in your internet web browser and provide quick access to interesting message board content for future viewing. The forum bookmarks system allows you to add interesting threads to a bookmarks collection and is always available through the member profile page.
The advantage to using online forum bookmarks rather than the favorites / bookmarks feature in your web browser is that forum bookmarks are always available through your online forum account, regardless of which computer or internet connected device you're using. You can also receive notifications on threads that you have bookmarked.
Add a Bookmark
To bookmark a thread, first navigate to a thread on the message board that you find interesting and would like to bookmark. At the top left corner of the thread, just above where it says Author, you'll see the bookmark button. The button can also be found directly below the last post in the lower left corner.
When the bookmark button is clicked, the icon will change to remove bookmark indicating the thread has been added to your message board bookmarks collection. Click the button again if you want to remove it from your bookmarks list. Once you've bookmarked a thread, you can view it by visiting your forum profile page and clicking the Bookmarks link.
Manage Bookmarks
To manage bookmarks, click the Manage Bookmarks link in the top-right corner of the bookmarks listing page. Here you can remove bookmarks or setup PM or email notifications for each new post made to threads you've bookmarked.
Notifications
Whenever a bookmarked thread has a new post added to it, you have the option to receive a notification by email or Private Message (PM). To create notifications, check the box next to threads you'd like notifications for, then select the type of notification from the drop-down menu to the right of the thread list.
Click the Update Bookmarks and Preferences button when you've finished making your selections.
Also, just below the listed bookmarks, you have the ability to set a default notification type for each forum thread you bookmark in the future. For example, if you want to receive an email for every thread you bookmark, set this to Email. From that moment, any additional threads you bookmark will generate an email notification when someone replies in new bookmarked threads.
Even if you don't currently have any threads bookmarked, you can still manage the default notification options for future bookmarks by clicking the link Click here to manage your bookmark preferences found on the forum Bookmarks page.
